The Crop Management Seminar is held every other year and is aimed primarily towards crop consultants in the mid-south, but often attracts producers and county extension personnel as well as participants from Texas and the southeast. November 9 will be a workshop focused on the COTMAN program (http://cotman.tamu.edu/index.htm), the main seminar on November 10 will include current pest management issues, variety selection, and sensor-based management. Two "precision" workshops will be held con-currently on November 11. One is focused on the use of on-the-go sensors (e.g., Trimble's GreenSeeker, AgLeader's OptRx, and Topcon's CropSpec) for cotton nitrogen management. Some discussion will also be devoted to growth regulator and defoliant application. The second workshop will provide information on sensor-based irrigation management and highlight systems that allow wireless data transfer.
