Precision Ag Hitting The Road This Winter

The week between Christmas and New Year is usually great opportunity to review plans and travel during the first quarter of the year ahead. And by the looks of things, the "PrecisionAg Express" will be making a number of stops this year. Myself and my team, along with Elliott Nowels, director of the PrecisionAg Institute, hope to be seeing many of you at an event sometime before the first seed hits the ground this spring.

Next week, Elliott and I will be attending the Beltwide Cotton Conferences in Orlando. There's a cotton precision meeting on the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 3 that I am sitting in on, and both Elliott and I will be visiting and walking the halls through Thursday morning.

Two weeks Iater, I am headed to a Precision Agriculture Summit in Jamestown, ND beginning on Jan. 16. Futurist and agriculture luminary Lowell Catlet will be a keynote speaker, and precision friends Dr. Terry Griffin from the University of Arkansas, and John Pointon from OmniSTAR will also be presenting. Should be a terrific event.

At the same time, Eric Sfiligoj is traveling to Peoria for the Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association conference and is looking forward to seeing retailers and agronomists in attendance.

Our big shindig is at the Commodity Classic during the first week in March, where the PrecisionAg Institute is presenting its PrecisionAg Learning Center, a 30' x 30' display designed to provide educational and networking opportunities for attendees interested in how technology improves efficiency, agronomy, and stewardship. And I get to host a panel discussion titled "Precision Ag: Know More, Grow More" with some prominent growers and experts that are helping agriculture turn technology in to real ROI.

If you're hosting or attending a PrecisionAg oriented event, please share it here and we will highlight meetings throughout the winter in PrecisionAg eNews.

Well, here's wishing you every success in the New Year, and thank you for following us at PrecisionAg.com and the PrecisionAg Institute.
